Naffziger sign
For sciatica or herniatednucleus pulposus. Nerve root irritation is produced by external jugular venous compression by examiner.
 
Naffziger’s test
For nerve root compression. Increase of aggravation of pain or sensory disturbance over the distribution of the involved nerve root upon manual compression of the jugular veins bilaterally confirms the presence of an extruded intervertebral disk or other mass.
